TIPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL WORK FROM HOME SEARCH
Search for work from home with realistic expectations.
Legitimate work from home listings look similar to normal job postings, with "telecommute okay," "this is a home office position" or similar location references.
Put some time and effort into creating good resumes and cover letters. Unlike jobs outside of the home, you most likely will never have a chance to personally make a good impression. Your resume/cover letter are your first impression.
Have a resume prepared for each job type you are seeking. If you are applying for both writing and customer service positions, have a resume prepared for each and for writing, have samples ready to submit.
Fill applications out completely. Companies that hire home workers get more applications than they can keep track of. If you don't at the very least fill the application out completely, you will probably never hear from the hiring organization.
Join work at home forums and read other work from home resources.
You can even utilize websites like Indeed, Craigslist and Career Builder to find work at home, but keep an eye out for scams no matter where you go. Simply enter search terms like "remote position," "virtual," "freelance," "1099 position," "telecommute" and "home office."
